Post-Operative Massage & Recovery Care

Healing after surgery is a journey. Having the right care during recovery can make a huge difference in your comfort, results, and long-term mobility. I specialize in post-operative massage therapy that supports your body’s natural healing process and helps you feel more like yourself again. If you've recently had BBL, liposuction, tummy tuck, or an orthopedic surgery like knee, hip, or shoulder replacement, treatments are designed for your specific needs and healing stage.

Post-op recovery sessions combine manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) with scar tissue work, fibrosis reduction, and mobility techniques.

In the early stages, the focus is on reducing swelling and fluid retention. As healing progresses, sessions become more targeted to:

  • Break up scar tissue and adhesions
  • Improve skin texture and surgical contours
  • Enhance tissue mobility and range of motion
  • Prevent or reduce fibrosis and hard lumps
  • Support long-term recovery and comfort

Initial Session – 80 minutes | $185

  • Detailed intake to understand your surgery and surgeon’s protocol
  • Lymphatic drainage techniques to safely reduce fluid retention, pain and bruising
  • Education on post-op care, fluid management, and session planning
  • Schedule out future visits

Follow-Up Sessions – 60 minutes | $150

Week 1–2: Lymphatic Drainage Massage & Swelling Reduction

Focus: Reduce swelling, support circulation, promote healing
Sessions: (Follow surgeons suggestions)

  • Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) begins as early as 24–72 hours post-op (if cleared by your surgeon)
  • Very gentle strokes no deep pressure at this stage
  • Helps move excess fluid, promotes drainage, reduce puffiness, and support immune function
  • You may feel sore, tender, or fatigued, this is normal and we adjust techniques accordingly
  • Compression garment support (if applicable)

Week 3–4: Continued Drainage + Early Scar Tissue Management

Focus: Prevent fibrosis, support contour, begin soft tissue work
Sessions: 1–2 times per week (based on healing and surgeon guidance)

  • Lymphatic massage continues with more pressure as tolerated
  • Myofascial release or soft tissue mobilization may be introduced
  • Start addressing early signs of fibrosis or scar tissue buildup
  • Encouragement of safe movement to reduce stiffness and improve circulation
  • Skin and tissue texture often begins to visibly improve

Week 5–6: Moderate Tissue Work & Mobility Support

Focus: Improve mobility, break up adhesions, enhance results
Sessions: 1x per week or as needed

  • Deeper techniques may be introduced (only if tolerated and cleared)
  • Focused work on tight areas, minor indentations, or thickened tissue
  • More active client participation: gentle movement, mobility techniques
  • Continued improvement in swelling, contour, and comfort

Week 7–8+: Advanced Scar Tissue Release & Functional Recovery

Focus: Long-term tissue quality, comfort, and movement
Sessions: Every 1–2 weeks or as needed for maintenance

  • More advanced scar tissue release and tissue remodeling
  • Myofascial techniques (if safe and appropriate)
  • Focus on restoring normal range of motion and reducing lingering discomfort
  • Maintenance care as needed to support your lifestyle and surgical results

Important Notes:

  • Your healing rate depends on the type of surgery, your body's response, and how closely you follow post-op protocols (like wearing compression garments, resting, staying hydrated, etc.)
  • I always follow your surgeon's guidelines
  • Open communication is key, your feedback helps me tailor every session to your body’s needs.
